BMW M3 engine shown
Fri, 23 Mar 2007By Ben Barry Motor Industry 23 March 2007 01:18 BMW has revealed detailed specs on the all-new 4.0-litre V8 that’s soon to be slotted into the all-new M3. Power is confirmed at 420bhp with 295lb ft peak torque available from 3000 to 7000rpm. The engine – made at the same foundry as the BMW Sauber F1 team’s V8 and derived from the same architecture as the M5 and M6 V10 – looks set to dispel any fears M purists may have had that the M3 would be transformed into a nose heavy, slow revving behemoth.
Hyundai ix20 and facelifted i10 (2010) first photos
Tue, 14 Sep 2010By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 14 September 2010 14:48 After the design sketches, now it's the real McCoy: the new Hyundai ix20 mini-MPV.No surprises for guessing it's the Hyundai equivalent of the Kia Venga. Engineered and designed in Europe, the ix20 is the second car – after the bigger ix35 crossover – to adopt the family's new 'fluidic sculpture' design look. The ix20 will be on UK sale from November 2010. No word yet on the powertrains on offer, but we'd expect similar 1.1 and 1.4 petrols and 1.4 diesel as the similarly engineered Venga.Anything else at Paris 2010?
Audi Q8 confirmed, or is it the Audi Q9?
Tue, 30 Apr 2013We’ve long wondered when Audi would get round to expanding its range of ‘Q’ badged SUVs to include sporty coupe SUVs as well as a new range-topper bigger than the Q7. But Audi Chairman chairman, Rupert Stadler, said back in 2011 that Audi was inclined to ignore the sector above the Q7 and instead concentrate on more compact SUVs. Which makes sense for the European market, but does it makes sense for China and the USA?
