VW Golf GTD (2013) first pictures of diesel hot hatch

VW's Golf GTD - a performance diesel brother to the GTI hot hatch - is here. Rated at 182bhp and 280lb ft, it boasts more punch than the old GTD (an extra 12bhp and 14lb ft), and scores better fuel economy too: up 14mpg to 67.3mpg, if you opt for the six-speed manual gearbox. Gray Design imagines a new Saab 9-3

Swedish design firm Gray Design gave us its take on a new Saab 9-3 on Friday. The sleek, spaceship-like car reminds us again of what Saab’s future could have looked like. Gray Design says the Saab 9-3 Mark III is an attempt to take design elements from past Saabs and blend them into modernity.

Now, with the new C-Class Estate due to arrive in the UK in September, Mercedes has revealed prices and specs for the initial launch range. Just three versions will be available at launch – the C 200, C 220 BlueTec and C 250 BlueTec – with the C 220 and C 250 sharing different power versions of Mercedes’ 2.1 litre diesel and the C 200 getting the 2.0 litre petrol.
