Aston Martin expands personalization scheme
Thu, 13 Oct 2011Aston Martin, the UK's ‘coolest brand', is set to increase its offerings of unique products. The British carmaker has announced that the ‘Works Tailored' personalization and customization department is expanding as part of a six-month development plan within the brand. The recently formed ‘Works Tailored' department, which works in close collaboration with engineers and designers, offers owners of Aston Martins of any age the chance to personalize their car to their exacting standards.
Porsche Panamera – Best selling Porsche in the U.S.
Tue, 11 May 2010The Porsche Panamera - best-selling Porsche in the US The Porsche Panamera elicited pretty much the same response from the Porsche aficionados when it was revealed as the Cayenne did seven years ago – raise arms in horror; shriek about wrecking the brand and proclaim the end of Porsche as the latest sacrilege will bring the company to its knees. Wrong. Again.
It looks like Aston Martin could be getting AMG/Mercedes platforms too
Wed, 30 Oct 2013Mercedes/AMG platforms would make the Lagonda SUV a reality We’d been expecting Aston Martin to get access to Mercedes platforms ever since the Lagonda SUV – based on the underpinnings of the Mercedes GL - arrived in all its ‘beauty’ in 2009. The Lagonda SUV was met with wails of anguish from lovers of Aston Martin’s timeless beauty but, despite the horror at the looks of the SUV, the prospect that Aston Martin could be heading down a collaboration route with Mercedes was welcome. It was welcome because without the support of a major car maker – and access to its technology – Aston Martin would have little chance of a bright future; there is no way a minnow like Aston Martin could afford the development cost of new engines and platforms.
