Saab strikes deal with BMW for 9-3, 9-1 engines

The new 2012 Saab 9-3 is set to be the first Saab powered by BMW By Tim Pollard Motor Industry 29 September 2010 07:43 Minnow Saab has struck a deal with BMW, one of the world's largest premium car makers, to supply powertrains for future models, including the next 9-3 and proposed 9-1 supermini. Munich will provide Saab with four-cylinder petrol 1.6 turbo engines from 2012 and the full suite of Efficient Dynamics tech will be included. The deal is being signed today by Ian Robertson, marketing board member of BMW AG, and the CEO of Saab Automobile, Jan Åke Jonsson, in Trollhättan.How can Saab afford to buy BMW engines?No financial or volume details have been announced yet.

2013 Range Rover: First Video

With the 2013 Range Rover getting its detail reveal today at the Royal Ballet School in London we have the first video. We’ll have more detail later today (we expect) on exactly what Land Rover has achieved with the new Range Rover, especially the effect the huge weight loss has had on the performance of the 4.4 litre V8 diesel, the 5.0 litre Supercharged petrol and the new 3.0 litre diesel. Peugeot i0n electric car at 2009 Frankfurt motor show

By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 08 September 2009 12:57 PSA is forging closer links with Mitsubishi; after the Outlander became the C-Crosser and 4007, now Peugeot has teamed up with the Japanese to launch the i0n – an electric car based on the electric Mitsubishi i-car. The zero-emissions Peugeot i0n (combines a zero with ions, geddit?) will go on sale at the end of 2010 and builds on the French company’s expertise with EVs stretching all the way back to 1995 when it launched the 106 Electric. It’ll go 80 miles on one charge of the lithium ion battery, making it ideal for urban commuting and short shuttles, says Peugeot.
