Volkswagen Golf R 400 Concept with 395bhp heading for Beijing
Thu, 17 Apr 2014The VW Golf R 400 can hit 62mph in 3.9 seconds Volkswagen usually reserve their extreme concepts for the Worthersee Show, but they’re heading to next week’s Beijing Motor Show with a very extreme Golf R. The VW Golf R 400 Concept takes the regular Golf R – perhaps the most ‘grown-up’ hot hatch you can buy – and not only adds more power but extreme styling too. That means the 2.0 litre turbo 4-cylinder engine in the Golf R being crankes up to deliver 395bhp (400PS) which cuts the 0-62mph time by a full second over the production Golf R with the DSG ‘box to a supercar-bashing 3.9 seconds.
Suzuki Swift (2011) at Frankfurt motor show
Tue, 13 Sep 2011Back in 2006, the Suzuki Swift took CAR Magazine’s Car Of The Year gong ahead of some pretty accomplished opposition. But, since then, it’s rarely featured in our pages while the Renaultsport Clio has stolen our small-car affections. Suzuki’s star of the Frankfurt show, the Suzuki Swift Sport, hopes to put the model back on the radar.
Rolls-Royce Wraith (2013) second teaser of 600bhp coupe
Tue, 12 Feb 2013This is part three of Rolls-Royce’s pre-Geneva motor show tease of its new Wraith coupe. We’ve already seen a ghostly interpretation of the Spirit of Ecstasy figurine, and a side profile shot that revealed a resemblance to a ’68 Mustang Fastback, and now Rolls has shown the rear of the Wraith, and made a few proud proclamations about just how powerful its new super-coupe will be. I can’t see much of the new Rolls-Royce Wraith… Unfortunately it’s another shadowy teaser from Rolls-Royce, in the same vein as the side profile silhouette.
