CAFA Degree Show 2011

The 2011 Central Academy of Fine Arts recently held its annual transportation design degree show, themed '2053 sea, land and air amphibious transportation and entertainment design'. Lead by Professor Edward Wong, director of the school's transportation design department, China's leading design school asked students to exert their creativity whilst being conscious of advanced technologies and material applications. The brief called for the next generation of vehicles for the future and whatever environments this may present.

Concept Car of the Week: Nissan Nails (2001)

Japan's unique culture and lifestyle provides a fertile environment for some of the strangest ideas to blossom. The oddly named Nissan Nails is one of these eccentric concepts that shows typical Japanese thinking. Halfway between Gundam and a Pokemon, it was designed in Creative Box.

Yo-Auto Yo-Concept

Yo-Auto, a new Russian car manufacturer, is due to reveal its Yo-Concept at the 2011 Frankfurt motor show. The company is taking pre-orders for its range of hybrid vehicles, anticipated for release in 2012, which consists of a coupe, hatchback and a truck. Although it has been confirmed that the car will not make the jump to production, it is understood that Yo-Auto hopes the vehicle will lead the way in the future of car design.
