Morgan celebrates 100 years – and a new model

There aren’t many car makers around the world who have been in business for 100 years, and even fewer that have remained in the same family for all that time. But Morgan, that maker of anachronistic 1930s-style cars, is not only still going strong, it is celebrating its 100 year anniversary in 2009, and is now the only remaining British-owned car maker in existence (aside from the ‘Garden-Shed’ makers). Range Rover Evoque Sport - back in the news The Range Rover Evoque Sport is back in the news after Land Rover design director Gerry McGovern hinted at it in Beijing. Last year we reported that a Range Rover Evoque Sport is planned after David Mitchell, Land Rover’s Evoque program director, confessed he was driving an Evoque with the 2.0 litre Ecoboost petrol engine turned up to 300bhp. Even if David Mitchell hadn’t confessed his pimped ride it would still have been a very sensible assumption that Land Rover would add a Range Rover Evoque Sport to the range at some point.

Spring Mountain opens Cadillac V-Series Academy

While half the country is slogging through snow this time of year, some of you -- like Cadillac -- are prepping for the racetrack. The Cadillac V-Series Academy at Nevada’s Spring Mountain Resort and Country Club is now open to the public. The resort, just outside Las Vegas, has four miles of racetrack and 125 feet of elevation change.
