Jaguar designer Ian Callum creating his own Jaguar Mk II
Mon, 11 Mar 2013Jaguar’s Director of Design, Ian Callum, has commissioned Classic Motor Cars to create a very special one-off classic Jaguar Mk II. For those of a certain age, the MK II Jaguar was the car the police used to chase bank robbers. who themselves were driving a MK II Jags, in the 1960s.
SEAT Ibiza Cupster Concept Heading for Worthersee
Wed, 21 May 2014The SEAT Ibiza Cupster Concept (pictured) is heading for Worthersee Some cars that head for the Worthersee Show look like they could be heading for production, but the SEAT Ibiza Cupster Concept isn’t really one of them. SEAT has built the Cupster Concept as a celebration of thirty years of the Ibiza range and it comes without a roof but with a steeply raked windscreen and wraparound glass, big buttresses where the back seats would usually be (there are no back seats) and a boot mounted spoiler. SEAT are promising more details before Worthersee, but it seems reasonable to assume that the Cupster has the regular Ibiza Cupra under its skin complete with the 178bhp 1.4 litre TSI engine.
Michelin design contest inspires young minds
Tue, 04 Dec 2012The College for Creative Studies in Detroit held its 24th Michelin Design challenge, in which Michelin sponsors a design and development project for one of CCS' transportation design classes. The competition works like this: CCS and Michelin get together to develop a theme, then CCS picks which transportation design class will work on the project. The idea, Michelin says, is to celebrate and promote the kind of vehicle design that highlights original thinking and innovation.
