Ford S-Max concept
Wed, 28 Aug 2013Ford has released details of its S-Max concept ahead of its official debut at the Frankfurt motor show next month. Building on the success of the current-generation S-Max, the concept (surely more a pre-production show car than a true concept) continues the low, long and sporty twist on the SUV recipe that has made it such a hit in Europe. So it retains the monovolume outline with a soft transition from hood to windscreen and the tapered roofline.
Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4: Photo leaks
Tue, 22 Feb 2011Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Leaked Photo So far, we’ve had every sort of Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 story you could imagine in the run-up to a new car launch, from speculation over the name to disguised cars running around Europe, and all the way on to last week’s ‘Official’ spy video of the LP700-4. Now, with just a week to go before the Geneva Motor Show – and print media wanting to get their copies on to newsstands as the LP700-4 launches, the chances of a leak or three increase hugely. We’ve benefited once or twice from anonymous photos of new cars in our Inbox, but today its the turn of WCF who’ve had a scan drop in of Evo’s Croatian edition showing a top view of the new Lamborghini from a reader.
Car Design News Contest
Mon, 07 Apr 2008As one judge, Geert Jan Schellekens, Principal Automotive and Industrial Designer at SABIC Innovative Plastics, said; "From several hundred entries to 20 finalists in a day's time - what could have turned out to be a cumbersome process, if not a bureaucratic nightmare, actually became an intensive yet fun session with many intriguing and interesting interpretations of the contest brief - fuelling some lively discussions!" Another strong impression from judges was also of the variety of design entry and the effort that had been put into them, as Dale Harrow said: "I'm very impressed with the standard, and particularly with the diversity of entries to the contest". Derek Buckmaster,Global Market Director, Body Panels & Glazing for SABIC Innovative Plastics, said: "I was surprised by the depth of thought which the entrants had put into their designs to meet the diverse needs of the three 'milenniumites' described in the design brief. The designs displayed numerous approaches to meeting the environmentally-friendly and light-weight goals." All designs were considered relative to the Assessment Criteria a critically important part of the contest, created to ensure as much fairness in the process as possible and detailed in the Contest part of Car Design News.
