Bankruptcy will delay Chrysler's 2010 model launches, exec says

Mon, 04 May 2009

Chrysler LLC will be late getting its 2010 vehicles to market because of the automaker's Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing, Chrysler manufacturing chief Frank Ewasyshyn testified today. The current shutdown of plants and stresses on suppliers also threaten to delay the 2011 models next year, Ewasyshyn said. The changeover to 2010 models is delayed while Chrysler tries to emerge from bankruptcy within the next 30 to 60 days, he said.

Top Gear Tonight: McLaren 12C, Ferrari 458, Audi R8 V10 Convertibles & Benedict Cumberbatch SIARPC

McLaren 12C Spider, Ferrari 458 Spider & Audi R8 V10 Spyder (pictured) on Top Gear in Spain This weekend may be petrolhead heaven at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, but FoS visitors can have an extra fix of high octane fuel when they get home tonight with episode 3 of series 20 of Top Gear. Tonight, it’s a Top Gear road trip, and this time they’re quite close to home – Spain. It seems the mission is to help Spain’s struggling economy by taking a trio of the very best convertible supercars to the Iberian Peninsula – the McLaren 12C Spider (not the MP4-12C any more), the Ferrari 458 Spyder and the Audi R8 V10 Spyder.

Is the Jaguar XFR-S on the way?

Thu, 02 Feb 2012

Is the Jaguar XFR-S on the way (2012 XFR pictured) New reports suggest that the Jaguar XFR-S – a more powerful XFR with the output of the XKR-S – is close to production. Last summer we reported that a Jaguar XFR-S was being planned (actually, we also said a Jaguar XJR-S was in the planning too) in order to take the fight back to the Germans, with the latest iterations of the BMW M5 and Mercedes E63 AMG now offering more power than the XFR can muster. The idea of a more powerful XFR wasn’t just wild speculation (or an educated guess as to what Jaguar needed to do to keep in touch with German rivals) but was also based on Adrian Hallmark’s comments that it would be nice to take the power upgrades on the XKR-S and extend them to the XF.
