Lotus Evora – all new photos
Sat, 02 May 2009All new pictures of the Lotus Evora - to be launched in the UK in June It does seem to have taken for ever to get the Lotus Evora in to showrooms – it’s been coming for almost a year now. We did finally get Lotus Evora specifications and UK prices back in March, but even though the launch has once again been put back (from May until June) the release of these photos is clear evidence that finally the Lotus Evora is about ready. The first four-seater Lotus in an age (although it’s really a 2+2, and then only if you pay extra for the rear seats), the Evora has a mid-engined 3.5 litre V6 Toyota lump, fettled and sorted by Lotus to produce 276bhp.
2012 Porsche 911 Cabriolet – it’s video time
Sat, 26 Nov 20112012 Porsche 911 Cabriolet - now we get the Video One of the busiest pages on Cars UK this week has been the news of the reveal of the 2012 Porsche 911 Cabriolet (and the 2012 911 Cabriolet photo gallery has been busy too), so when Porsche sent us video too we thought it was worth sharing. The new 911 Cabriolet is obviously rather popular. For now, we have to be satisfied with the Carrera Cabriolet and Carrera S Cabriolet.
Porsche Cayman Shooting Brake Fake +video
Thu, 13 Aug 2009The fake Porsche Cayman Shooting Brake - rendered in Maya Turns out that it was all a bit of viral fun created by Jared Holstein, the outgoing editor of TopGear.com. He came up with the idea and got a bunch of Summer Interns in the States to do the donkey work. A digital design student called Matt DuVall used Maya (a digital 3D rendering programme) to create the original image (actually, I’ve been trying to master Maya for ever – must get some tips from Matt!) which incorporated lots of Porsche design themes, and even used a Porsche ‘Mule’ license plate.
