Hottest Golf R ever headed for Detroit auto show
Wed, 08 Jan 2014The 2015 Volkswagen Golf R will debut at the Detroit auto show next week. It gets more power, a new 4Motion system and better gas mileage -- wins all the way around. The Golf R makes 290 hp from an advanced version of VW's 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, along with 280 lb-ft of torque.
Team Lotus snaps up Caterham +video
Wed, 27 Apr 2011Team Lotus buys Caterham Cars - and a Team Lotus Special Edition Seven to celebrate Team Lotus – that’s the ‘Lotus’ F1 run by Tony Fernandes, not the Hethel mob run by Dany Bahar – has bought Caterham Cars from Corven Ventures for an undisclosed sum. Which is all very apposite, what with Caterham being the spiritual home of Colin Chapman’s Lotus Seven and keeper of the Chapman ethos of lighter is better. To tie Caterham back in to the Lotus name could work wonders for sales.
VW Scirocco and Passat CC (2011): low CO2 tech

Bluemotion tech is now fitted to the base 2.0-litre turbodiesel and includes stop/start and battery regeneration systems to cut CO2 beneath 120g/km. The six-speed manual Scirocco 138bhp 2.0 TDI now averages 62.8mpg (down from 55.4mpg) while emissions have tumbled to an impressive 118g/km (down from 134g/km).
