Videos: Volkswagen's exterior and interior designers highlight the Up's design elements

Thu, 27 Oct 2011

We've enjoyed the design of Volkswagen's new Up since we first saw the vehicle in concept form at the 2007 Frankfurt motor show. Devoid of any extraneous detailing, the simple, product design aesthetic is pared back to represent the crux of VW's design philosophy: pure, simple and solid.  The result is a harmonious design that stands out from the pack, with simple surfacing and subtle detailing; the Up's design is pure and minimalistic, which serves to exude quality in the product. Inside, the vehicle is brimming with space-saving design details.  From an IP devoid of central air vents to a thin headrest that visually extends the height of the interior, the Up is a success story in space efficiency, but it is also finished to a high level using quality materials.

Roush introduces three stages of fun for the 2013 Ford Mustang

Mon, 09 Apr 2012

Roush Performance is synonymous with high-performance Ford Mustangs, and for 2013 Mustangs, Roush will offer three stages of enhancement. For those who prefer cosmetics over performance, the Stage One kit consists of the R6 aerobody package, which includes a remodeled front end, a hood scoop, rocker panels, a three-piece rear decklid spoiler, race-inspired (not CFD tested) diffusers and new chrome exhaust tips. Stage Two is a step up for performance-minded Mustang fans.

By Tim Pollard Motoring Issues 15 February 2008 08:01 CAR Online reader Tim Hiscocks so enjoyed our recent Italian supercar adventure to Monaco (CAR Magazine, January 2008), he drew up a cartoon of the road trip featuring the Alfa Romeo 8C, Ferrari 430 Scuderia and Maserati Granturismo. You can check out his drawing full size by clicking on the image to the right. We’ve recently upgraded our picture switcher, which now lets you enlarge each image without taking you to a different page.
