Top Gear: The Motoring Ashes, Ferrari 599 GTO & Boris Becker
Sun, 30 Jan 2011Top Gear Ashes v Australia After a better than average start to the latest series of Top Gear (Series 16 AB), with a trio of tests and Scouse comic John Bishop proving there’s nothing quicker than a scouser in someone else’s car, tonight’s Top Gear looks promising too. Ferrari Enzo successor to make 920 hp
Fri, 17 Feb 2012About a decade and a half after Porsche eschewed its lightness-and-small-displacement strategy and built a five-liter sports racer to take down Ferrari at Le Mans, a different sort of war kicked off between the two marques: a battle for supremacy in the super-supercar market. In 1984, Ferrari built a radically modified twin-turbo 308 GTB with an eye toward Group B road-racing rules. EyesOn design awards 2012 winners announced at NAIAS
Tue, 10 Jan 2012The Detroit-based EyesOn Design competition winners have just been announced at their traditional time, late on the second press day of the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The jury, which this year included Ralph Giles (Chrysler), Derek Jenkins (Mazda), Lorenzo Ramaciotti (Fiat/Chrysler), Peter Schreyer (Kia) and Franz Von Holzhausen (Tesla) had a much greater array of products to choose from than in recent years; this is a somewhat rejuvenated Detroit auto show. From the cars on display at the show, the judges shortlisted the Ford Fusion, BMW 3-Series and Cadillac ATS for the best production car award.
