Automotive wrecking yards are good places to reflect on the real-world values of heavily depreciated vehicles versus global current scrap-metal prices, and to see which cars have suddenly had the fix-it-versus-total-it line moved by insurance companies (the early-21st-century Subaru Legacy Outback, for example, appeared in large numbers in high-turnover wrecking yards just during the last year, as fairly minor collision damage on these cars is no longer worth fixing). Renault has revealed that the Dacia Duster compact SUV will cost from £8,995 in the UK for the 2WD version.  Renault threatened that the Dacia brand’s arrival in the UK – and in particular the Dacia Duster SUV – would offer ”Shockingly Affordable Prices’. And they’re not wrong. We thought the Dacia SUV would dip under £10k, but Renault has priced the new Duster in its basic form - admittedly with FWD – at just £8,995.

Jaguar F-Type caught in Colorado ahead of Paris motor show debut

Sharp-eyed Autoweek reader Robert Burkhardt has sent us a photo of what appears to be a camouflaged Jaguar F-Type caught driving in the mountains near Denver. Jaguar hasn't exactly been shy about showing off the F-Type in recent months. To generate buzz about the upcoming two-seater, the company has released teaser shots of a different camouflage-wrapped F-Type plastered with prominent “Search F-Type” stickers.
