Top Gear builds Electric Car
Sun, 22 Nov 2009Top Gear's Hammerhead Eagle i-Thrust Electric Car Update: As Top Gear gave their electric car to Autocar to test (they should have given it to Cars UK!), we thought we’d update this post with the Autocar test video (at the end of this article). With a new series of Top Gear starting last week – Top Gear does Romania being the main piece – we suddenly remembered that you all love Top Gear as much as we do when we had tens of thousands of you arriving to have a look at the piece we did earlier this year when the boys were actually in Romania. So in case any of you pass by here today – and having had a hard Saturday night your brain’s not sure what day it is – we thought we’d remind you the boys are back with another new Top Gear episode tonight at 9pm.
Top Gear tonight: Merc 190E, BMW M3 & Sierra Cosworth for under £5k
Sun, 04 Jul 2010Top Gear Super Saloons for under £5k Here we are at week two of the latest series of Top Gear already, so as ever a reminder that the boys are on the box at 8pm (BST) tonight on BBC2 and – to speak in TG – the footballists aren’t on tonight so you don’t need to Sky+ one or other. What’s on offer this week? It’s super saloons for under £5k this week with Messrs Clarkson, Hammond & May going out and grabbing some high-preformance saloons for under £5k to see if they can ferry the brood and offer high speed thrills to boot.
Racing granny wished for more speed
Fri, 16 May 2014A 102-year-old woman said she was disappointed racing great Mario Andretti could not go faster than 180mph during their laps around a speedway track in Indianapolis. Edith Pittenger, of Muncie, said she had a great time riding with Andretti in a two-seat race car. "He said 180 is the maximum," she told the Star Press.
