Qoros GQ3: Chinese rival for the Ford Focus revealed

The first of a new range of cars from the Chinese Qoros brand – the Qoros GQ3 – has been revealed ahead of a debut at Geneva 2013. Three months ahead of that reveal Qoros has jumped in with a reveal of their first offering and some details about what it has on offer. Unsurprisingly, the reality is somewhat less exciting to look at than the dynamic-looking teaser image we saw last month. Planned to go on sale in both China and Europe during 2013 the Qoros GQ3 is aimed at young buyers, although why any car company would build a C-Segment saloon and expect young buyers to lap it up in Europe is beyond us.

Mercedes CLA: Price from £24,355

The new Mercedes CLA – the swoopy coupe based on the new A Class – will cost from £24,355 in the UK with a choice of Sport or AMG Sport trim. Mercedes gave a quick flash of their cool new A Class Coupe and then whipped it off to the Berlin Fashion Week for a proper debut, clearly showing that Mercedes think the new CLA a style statement as much as a car. Russians show great interest in Corvette legend Zora Arkus-Duntov

It wasn't until recently that Russians understood that Chevrolet Corvette chief engineer Zora Arkus-Duntov, the patron saint of the America's sports car, was a Russian. Now, there seems to be intense media interest in this fact in a country that is waking up to all things automotive related. Arkus-Duntov's life and work is on display at the Alexander Solzhenitsyn Center for Russian Emigres in Moscow.
