This came from a 2012 Golf TDI with a 2.0 CJAA diesel engine with a MANUAL transmission. The car had 52K miles. I bought the car for the engine to put in my wagon, but I have the DSG and use a different starter. It should fit various the CJAA year models (and 09 CBEA) engines.
