The stock intake system incorporates the radiator overflow as part of the air box which presented a design challenge. S&B overcame this obstacle by incorporating a new overflow container into its intake design clearing the way for a massive air filter. S&B's radiator overflow allows the fluid level to be easily monitored.

Engineering designed an extension harness allowing the mass airflow sensor to mount closer to the throttle body resulting in a tube with more volume. With greater volume, the restriction was decreased resulting in better airflow.
