BMW X3 Review & Road Test If you’re going to pontificate on a subject – in this case, pen a BMW X3 Review – it’s probably best to declare any prejudices and preconceptions up-front. So before starting to deliberate on BMW’s new X3 – in this case the entry-level BMW X3 xDrive20d SE – I need to declare that firstly, unlike many who review cars for a living, I ‘get’ the whole softroader thing. And secondly, I thought the original BMW X3 was truly awful.

Aston Martin and Mercedes tie-up over Lagonda

Probably the biggest surprise of the Geneva Motor Show was the arrival of the Lagonda Concept. Although the revival of the Lagonda Marque had been much speculated upon, particularly with Lagonda celebrating its 100 year car making anniversary this year (an all the marketing opportunities that offers) no one had seen a super-luxo SUV on the horizon. MG3: Shanghai Motor Show

The MG3 SuperMini for Europe is a titivated version of the MG3 the Chinese market gets, complete with a decent dose of flair and additional equipment and cosmetic enhancements to make it more appealing to Western tastes. That means hockey stick shaped LED running lights across the range, black A-pillars, mesh grill (well, mesh slit at the front), dual colour side skirts, dual colour alloys and a rear valance MG say was inspired by generations of MG sports cars. Although only 4 metres long, MG say the MG3 offer space inside that matches or beats all competition (room for  four six-footers they reckon) and gets a ‘rolled and raised’ dash that accentuates the space on offer and sculpted backs to the front seats to help space in the rear.
