In the presentation, Schreyer sketches the company's new K9 sedan, describing how a rear-wheel drive platform affects the car's design, with its generous wheelbase, short front overhang and the 'prestige distance' between the center of the front wheel and the A-pillar. Volkswagen and BYD get cosy
Tue, 26 May 2009VW and BYD have signed an agreement to work together on developing battery technology (BYD F3DM plug-in Hybrid pictured). Volkswagen has announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Chinese car maker and EV specialist BYD to work together “in the area of electric mobility”. Seems sensible.
Fisker Karma recalled over fire risk
Tue, 21 Aug 2012The Fisker Karma has been recalled after a fire in Woodside, Calif., where the source was determined to be a low-temperature cooling fan. This is the second fire for the Karma this year; the other happened in Fort Bend County, Texas. Around 1,400 Karma models already in customers' hands will be recalled, along with 1,000 that have yet to leave dealerships.
