College for Creative Studies students among Ferrari design-contest finalists
Mon, 13 Jun 2011Detroit's College for Creative Studies is among seven international design schools chosen for the final stage of the Ferrari World Design Contest. The competition started with 50 schools tasked to create the Ferrari of the future. The jury encountered a difficult selection process for stage two and raised the maximum number of finalists from six to seven.
Smoking in cars to be banned
Tue, 11 Feb 2014MPs in the House of Commons have voted in favour of amendment to the Children and Families Bill, thereby recommending a ban on smoking in cars when there are children present in England. The vote does not force the government to bring such a change into law, but has passed with a substantial majority and the recommendation is seen to have substantial public support. GM's Henderson says no decision yet on bankruptcy
Fri, 17 Apr 2009General Motors CEO Fritz Henderson said today the company has not decided whether to file for bankruptcy protection, but that preparations continue in case such an action is necessary. "We have until June 1, and if we can't do it between now and June 1 then we do it in bankruptcy," Henderson said during a morning teleconference with journalists. Still in his first month at the helm after the March 30 departure of CEO Rick Wagoner, Henderson said he wasn't sure who would make the decision.
