Toyota Unveils new Prius at Detroit Auto Show: Bigger, with more power and less weight
Mon, 12 Jan 2009Toyota introduced its third-generation Prius at the Detroit Auto Show with an extensively re-engineered hybrid drivetrain. Ninety percent of the Prius's hybrid synergy drive system has been redesigned, with the focus on weight reduction. The lighter components include the transaxle to cut down on torque loss, inverter with direct cooling and smaller motor.

McLaren’s successor to the iconic McLaren F1 is nearly upon us, and according to a McLaren owner we’ve spoken to it looks set to be revealed privately at Pebble Beach next month prior to a public debut at the Paris Motor Show in September. According to our source, McLaren already has at least two complete cars to show and has shown the new F1 – which may be the McLaren 799 – to a number of wealthy McLaren clients already.
2006 Michelin Challenge Design seeks vehicle designs for California market
Tue, 08 Feb 2005Michelin issued a call for entries to the global design community this week to kick off the 2006 Michelin Challenge Design, one of the industry's fastest growing vehicle design forums. In the last four years, Michelin Challenge Design has been the catalyst for students in design universities, design firms, professional designers from top OEMs, and individual designers from all over the world to have their work exhibited at a major international auto show in support of a central theme. Last year, submissions were received from 50 countries worldwide with selected designs displayed at the 2005 North American International Auto Show in January.
