Chrysler to build smaller version of Pentastar V6

The Chrysler Group plans to produce a smaller version of its 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine, likely at a plant in suburban Detroit, according to a union official and a source familiar with the project. The new 3.2-liter Pentastar V6 is set to debut in the replacement for the Jeep Liberty, the union official said. Chrysler-Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne has said the Liberty successor will be introduced in January at the 2013 Detroit auto show.

NEW colours, more technology and a host of other changes feature in the latest range of Abarth 500 cars for 2014. The new range has just been launched as part of a tie-in with the infamous Gumball 3000 supercar event, which visited Edinburgh and London recently as part of an international tour. Ferrari revealed the California T on Wednesday, its next-generation front-engine convertible, prior to March's Geneva motor show debut. The company teased the vehicle last week. Details are scarce right now, but Ferrari says the T again has a retractable hardtop (it lowers in 14 seconds), boasts a new turbocharged V8 making 552 hp and 556 lb-ft of torque—Ferrari hasn't had a turbocharged production car since the legendary F40.
