Citroen Cactus concept car (2013): the first bubble-wrap, bump-free car
Thu, 05 Sep 2013French car firm Citroen has enjoyed some success with its range of upmarket DS models – but now it’s turning its attention to the bread-and-butter C-line cars. And the new 2013 Citroen Cactus concept car is the first look at what’s in store for the mainstream Citroen car range. The Citroen Cactus immediately stands out from the crowd of same-again European crossovers because of its novel Airbump system: think of protective bubble-wrap on the doors and bumpers to protect them from scrapes and dings in car parks and you’re not far from the truth.
Maserati Quattroporte
Tue, 06 Nov 2012Maserati has revealed the first pictures and details of the 2013 Quattroporte ahead of its official debut at the Detroit auto show in January. The sixth-generation Quattroporte, a high-performance sports luxury saloon, will be the first of three new models that Maserati hopes will begin to increase its annual sales. The car retains some of the design cues from the outgoing model, namely the front grille, three side vents and the triangular C-pillar, while it also features a sharp beltline that rises towards the car's rear and runs through the side of the car.
Video: Jaguar XF clay model gets axed
Thu, 07 Jun 2012Jaguar recently gave a trio of clay modelers the task of deconstructing the original model of their carefully and lovingly sculpted XF sedan by handing them axes and sledgehammers in front of a camera crew. The modelers – dressed in black t-shirts and jeans – are shown taking apart the model piece by piece, perhaps taking out their frustration with designers who feel the need to get a little too hands-on with their artisan handiwork. Perhaps some other car manufacturers could using this as inspiration to destroy some of their cars, maybe – naming no names – before reaching production.
