Selling one (1) sheet, 4' x 12',  48 square feet of 1/4" thick fiberglass insulation with an aluminum foil backing on both sides.   This is your chance to get a very high quality commercial grade product at a price much less than sold in the retail market.  In fact our price is competitive with the 'bubble wrap' plastic type insulation.

We usually use 3m Super 77 Spray adhesive.

If you order more than one roll/piece we will ship one continuous length based on the number of rolls ordered, whenever possible.  This will allow you to cut the exact size you need with less waste.

Although Ebay is our current top selling site we also sell at car shows.

Our shipping is based on the weight and your zip code. If you order multiple rolls the shipping will be combined based on the weight, so your 2nd, 3rd or whatever you order, will just be a couple of dollars more than the single roll so order what you think you will need the first time and save on the shipping.  We usually ship by UPS to keep the cost as low as possible.

MIGHTY MATT tm

Mechanically bonded glass fiber insulation blanket of uniform density with excellent thermal and acoustical properties.

Superior performance in operating temperatures up to 1200ºF.

Although I knew from my own experience this product worked beyond my wildest dreams, many people have ask for the 'R' value and heat transfer numbers using this insulation.  This exact information was not available from the manufacturer so I made the following test and was amazed at how effective this insulation really is.   In one of my cars I recorded the temperature on the engine side of the firewall,  just behind the exhaust manifold to be 174 degrees while the temperature on the firewall at the same spot, inside the car was just 69 degrees.  The outside temp that day was 67 degrees.  Since this is only 2 degrees higher I assumed something was wrong with my testing equipment.  Next I used my wife's clothes iron.  Turning it as high as it would go, about 240 degrees, I placed the insulation about 1 inch from the iron and the temp just went up about 2 degrees.  Still not believing what I saw I placed a sheet of the insulation directly on the iron with my hand and was amazed to experience so little heat transfer that I could press the insulation hard against the iron without burning my hand.  I placed 2 sheets of the insulation on the iron and could not feel any heat.  Too good to be true?  This insulation is fantastic.

The Breakout—new for 2013 from Harley's Custom Vehicle Operations in Milwaukee—is a dazzling interpretation of the popular Softail.

Concept Car of the Week: Fiat Ecobasic

Fri, 21 Sep 2012

This week we're celebrating if not the most glamorous then certainly one of the most relevant concept of the last decade, the Fiat Ecobasic. The car was first shown at the 2004 Geneva motor show as Fiat investigated how to replace Giugiaro's ancient but brilliantly utilitarian Panda. The brief was: cheap to produce, cheap to own and friendly to the environment.

Nissan scales back on auto shows

Fri, 27 Feb 2009

Nissan said on Friday that it will not participate in some of the major auto shows in its new business year starting April 1, Reuters is reporting. The reason: to save money. This means no Nissan display at the show in Frankfurt in September and probably another absence in Detroit in January 2010.
