Porsche Design to launch two bikes
Wed, 03 Aug 2011Porsche will be joining its fellow car manufacturers when they release two bikes in September. The Porsche Design ‘RS' and ‘S' bikes are designed with speed in mind and will be the latest additions to their Driver's Selection range. The ‘Rennsport', or ‘RS' bike, is a sports bike featuring a monocoque-constructed carbon frame for stability and damping, 20-speed Shimano XTR gear and 29-inch Crank Brothers wheels.

But Mike O’Driscoll (MD of Jaguar Cars), speaking at the Shanghai Motor Show this morning, confirmed what we’ve already told you – that the new XJ will be revealed in full on 9th July. The new Jaguar XJ will come with all the Gen III engines in the JLR tool box.

Underlining the importance of this event to the automotive industry, and the importance and weight the automotive field now carries in the consumer electronics sphere, Alan Mulally – President and CEO of Ford motor company – was part of a three-person panel exploring how companies innovate, cope with failure and the relentless pace of change in the electronics world. Mulally was joined by Ursula Burns, Chairman and CEO of Xerox Corporation and John Stratto, Enterprise Executive at Verizon, the US telecoms company.
