Vauxhall Adam gets new 1.0 litre 3-cylinder engine, Cascada new new 1.6 SIDI turbo with 197bhp
Thu, 08 Aug 2013Vauxhall Adam & Vauxhall Cascada get new engines Vauxhall (and Opel, for that matter) are on a mission to fit new, more powerful and more efficient engines in cars across their range, and new engines are on their way for the Vauxhall Adam and the new Cascada. The Vauxhall Adam gets a new 1.0 litre 3-cylinder engine from GM’s SGE (Small Gasoline Engine) family that will ultimately offer 3 and 4-cylinder engines up to 1.6 litres. The 1.0 litre 3-pot for the Adam gets 113bhp and 122lb/ft of torque (it’s Vauxhall’s take on the hugely successful 1.0 litre EcoBoost Ford are busy introducing across their range) mated to a new six-speed gearbox.
Goodwood Moving Motor Show: (almost) an unqualified success
Fri, 02 Jul 2010The Goodwood Moving Motor Show Yesterday we toddled along to Goodwood to see the set up for this year’s Festival of Speed and to have a look at the Moving Motor Show in action for the first time. We also – courtesy of Jaguar, who had invited us for the day – got an early drive up the hillclimb-based circuit that forms part of the Moving Motor Show’s appeal for the lucky ones who got the opportunity to take the wheel of one of the impressive bunch of cars on display. And it was an impressive bunch, with everything from the Toyota Auris Hybrid to the Rolls Royce Phantom DHC via the Audi R8 and the new Jaguar XJ on offer to drive.

Wed, 05 Feb 2014-- Not every race car driver was James Hunt. Legendary drag racer Don Garlits couldn't have been legendary without his wife Patricia, who recently passed at the age of 71; in a few more weeks, they would have celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary. She supported Don when he didn't think his racing would amount to anything, and she was instrumental in persuading Don to switch to rear-engined dragsters -- Don's eventual acceptance ended up changing the face of drag racing forever.
