Industry pulse: NHTSA administrator David Strickland talks distracted driving

Editor's note: In an exclusive interview with National Highway Traffic Safety Administration administrator David Strickland, Melanie Batenchuk of Be Car Chic asked about distracted driving and the agency's combined efforts with the Department of Transportation to curb this bad behavior. BMW 3 Series

Details of BMW's latest 3 Series, the F30, have been officially released. The sixth generation car is set to continue the trend of its forefathers, each famed for their driving dynamics, comfort and style. The F30 is said to be a fresh interpretation of the mid-sized sedan, with its new DRG sporting flat headlights that stretch into the kidney grille.

Concept Car of the Week: Honda HP-X (1984)

20 years after producing its first production car, Honda grew enough confidence to challenge European sports cars on their own turf. Going straight for the jugular, they commissioned the famous Italian carrozeria Pininfarina to design a mid-engined two-seater concept for the 1984 Turin Motor show. The HP-X, standing for Honda Pininfarina eXperimental, had a very clean composition divided in three distinct elements: the matte black lower, the white ribbed body and the completely transparent canopy on top.
