Jaguar F-Type V8 S sprint test in Jabbeke – then off to Geneva 2013 in convoy + video
Mon, 04 Mar 2013Jaguar has taken the new F-Type V8 S to Jabbeke for sprint testing then on to Geneva in convoy with XK 120, C-type, D-type and E-type sports cars. So Jaguar took the F-Type off to Jabbeke, Belgium – where Jaguar’s test driver Norman Dewis managed a world record flying mile speed of 172.4mph in an XK 120 60 years ago – and put Le Mans driver Andy Wallace in the driver’s seat to see how quickly the F-Type V8 S would go. Andy had just a two mile stretch of closed road to play with the F-Type and yet managed a 0-179-0 with a clocked time of 4.2 seconds to 62mph on the way.
Ford kills Mercury – boosts Lincoln
Thu, 03 Jun 2010The Linclon Concept C - Lincoln's first C-Segment car? In what is probably the least surpring move by Ford the Mercury moniker has been consigned to the history books as Ford continues to rebuild not just its balance book but its brand. Having finally divested itself of its troublesome posh-badge crew of Jaguar, Land Rover, Aston Martin and Volvo, the only surprise is that the Mecury brand lasted this long.
Ferrari F70: First Photo
Mon, 03 Dec 2012We have what appears to be the first photo of the Enzo replacement - the Ferrari F70 – taken at a private viewing for Ferrari clients in China. Despite expectations that the new Ferrari F70 would be revealed before the end of 2012 – which is what Ferrari boss Luca di Montezemolo told us – we still haven’t had the reveal of the F70 in any form, and certainly not at the Los Angeles Auto show, where we expected Ferrari to debut their new hypercar as it’s the last motor show of note for 2012. It now looks like – short of a non-motor show reveal – that the new F70 will bow in at Detroit in January, but ahead of that it seems Ferrari are already showing the F70 to select clients.
