As it nears a refresh, the company built a limited run of 200 special M3 coupe Lime Rock Park Edition cars to celebrate the racetrack in Connecticut. Skip Barber, owner of Lime Rock, and BMW collaborated on the vehicle, which will only come in what BMW calls fire orange.

Volkswagen debuts two SUV concepts in Qatar

Volkswagen unveiled two SUV concepts, based on the Touareg, called the Race Touareg 3 Qatar and the Touareg Gold Edition at the Qatar motor show on Wednesday. The Race Touareg 3 Qatar is a street-legal version of the automaker’s car that won the 2011 Dakar Rally. The car can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in less than six seconds.

But no one told Lewis Hamilton. His cracking form – and a crackingly good Mercedes – took Hamilton to his 34th pole position in F1 – beating Jim Clark’s record in the process – 0.6 seconds ahead of Daniel Ricciardo and 1.1 seconds ahead of world champion Sebastian Vettel.
