Skoda Fabia Monte Carlo launches
Fri, 14 Jan 2011Skoda Fabia Monte Carlo When the press release came in for the Skoda Fabia Monte Carlo, we were a bit surprised to learn that Skoda has been playing in Motorsport for 110 years. We knew they had a noble history before communism relegated them to skip-on-wheels status, but we’re ashamed to confess we knew nothing of their early Motorsport history. BMW M550d, X5 M50d & X6 M50d Official
Thu, 26 Jan 2012BMW M550d - it's official As expected, the BMW M550d, BMW X5 M50d and BMW X6 M50d have been revealed as the first models in the new BMW M Division range. After speculation going back a couple of years, BMW has finally revealed a triumvirate of mighty diesel-powered M Division cars, with the unveiling of the M550d, X5 M50d and X6 M50d, all of which will debut officially at Geneva 2012 before going on sale later this year. First to arrive will be the X5 M50d and X6 M50d in the summer, with the M550d Saloon and M550d Estate probably not hitting the UK until close to the end of the year, but the UK won’t be getting the M550d xDrive – our cars will be RWD.
London's GPS-based speed-limit trial puts Big Brother's foot on the gas pedal
Wed, 08 Jul 2009A fleet of 12 Toyota Priuses in London have been fitted with GPS-linked speed limiters to measure how drivers respond to having their speed controlled by a computer rather than their own feet. For now, the trial is local to London, run by Transport for London, the agency that manages the city's roads, buses, subways and trains. The agency is using its own fleet of Priuses for the test and will add a bus and a taxi later this year.
