Here is a pair of '56 Chevrolet BelAir, 150 or 210, door striker plates. These came off of a 1956 Chevy Bel Air that I dismantled. They are in great condition..naturally the drivers side has a very slight bit more wear on the plastic slide. The springs are not broken nor rotted and non-functional..the springs work and the plastic slides do slide. These would look so much nicer if media blasted to bring out the metal color before installing on your car. I do believe these are the same strikers that are on a 1955 Chevy also. New Mexican Supercar company to launch VUHL 05 at Goodwood FoS
Tue, 12 Mar 2013A new track-focused, road-legal supercar from Mexican manufacturer Vuhl – the VUHL o5 – will launch at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Supercar companies spring up all over the place with men in sheds thinking they can take on established supercar makers and take a part of the supercar market in the process. Most fail to get beyond CAD renderings of their dream, but a new Supercar company from Mexico – Vuhl – has the help of established automotive industry names like Ford and Magna Steyr, and they’re promising to reveal their new car – the VUHL 05 – at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed in July.
Porsche announces new Weissach design center and wind tunnel
Wed, 24 Nov 2010Porsche is to invest around €150m into its Weissach development facility, including a new design center. The plans also include an electronics integration department and a state-of-the art, on-site wind tunnel, which is hoped will allow the company to realize an holistic approach to efficient design, with a strong focus on aerodynamics. When we spoke with head of Porsche design, Michael Mauer, at this year's Paris motor show, he also alluded to the fact that the Volkswagen Group's – and, more specifically, Walter de'Silva's – recent influence on the German manufacturer was shifting its attitudes: "The Volkswagen Group has a very good understanding of how much freedom a brand needs to keep its characteristics and with [Walter] as 'conductor', I feel a lot of support with design issues within the company," explained Mauer.
Kia Niro concept
Thu, 29 Aug 2013Kia's Niro concept, which debuts at the upcoming Frankfurt motor show, will hint at a possible B-segment model. Designed at Kia's Frankfurt design studio under the direction of chief designer Europe Gregory Guillaume, Kia says the Niro will feature "intriguing elements not always associated with smaller cars" as well as a mix of contrasting materials. Although full details haven't been released, the pictures show the Niro features triangular headlamps along with Kia's signature ‘tiger nose' grill design and muscular wheelarches.
