Volkswagen is bringing back the yellow-and-black Beetle GSR for 2014, more than 40 years after the “Yellow Black Racer” (Gelb Schwarzer Renner) debuted for the first time. That car had around 50 hp; the new one will eclipse that by just a little bit. On sale today, the Beetle GSR will use VW's turbocharged 2.0-liter TSI engine making 210 hp and 207 lb-ft of torque.

Can Design News and Interior Motives are gearing up for our annual visit to China for a number of important events in the industry's calendar, kicking off with the 2013 Interior Motives China Conference. This year's theme, ‘Technology and tradition – old meets new in modern-day China' features a new highly interactive format guaranteed to inspire and illuminate. Last year's event – timed to coincide with the run-up to the Beijing auto show – attracted over 400 senior OEM designers and Tier supplier executives from around the world, and this one promises to be bigger and better than ever.

College Exhibition: Scuola Politecnica di Design Milan 2006

Students from the Car Design Masters course at Scuola Politecnica di Design Milan presented concepts for an Audi Avant for 2015 at the school's studios in late June. The presentation of the Audi-sponsored project was made to Walter de'Silva, Design Director Audi Brand Group, who was actively involved in the project along with Audi designers Gary Telaak for the exterior design and Ingo Von Bargen for the interior. In October the students were assigned the task by Walter de'Silva of giving shape to the evolution of the Audi Avant concept.
