I RECENTLY PURCHASED A LONG MOTHBALLED TOP FUEL INVENTORY AND PART OF IT IS THIS AUCTION, A SET O BROOKS B-2 SOLID BEAM ALUMINUM CONNECTING RODS.  THESE WERE COMMON IN TOP FUEL AND BLOWN ALCOHOL APPLICATIONS AND THIS SET CONSISTS OF 8 RODS THAT HAVE BEEN "RESIZED" OR RECONDITIONED BY BROOKS BEFORE THEY WENT OUT OF BUSINESS, AND HAVE NOT BEEN USED SINCE THEY CAME BACK. ALL OF THE LARGE AND SMALL ENDS HAVE BEEN HONED AND CHECKED AS WELL AS THE LENGTH. THEY HAVE A STANDARD 426 HEMI ROD JOURNAL DIMENSION AND 1.156" WRIST PIN DIAMETER.  THESE ARE A GOOD LOW COST ALTERNATIVE TO BUYING NEW, BUT KEEP IN MIND THEY ARE USED CONNECTING RODS.  6.920" IS CONSIDERED A 1/16" LONG ROD (STOCK IS 6.856"). John Entwistle’s Rolls Royce Silver Shadow ESTATE up for grabs

John Entwistle’s Rolls Royce Silver Shadow Shooting Brake (pictured) up for sale Rolls Royce has never made an estate car – or Shooting Brake, as posh estates (and modern wannabes) tend to be badged – but that hasn’t stopped well-heeled owners from Maharajahs to rock stars turning Rolls Royces in to hunting and shooting transport for almost a hundred years. Taking the finest creations of Rolls and turning them in to a bespoke shooting brake is not a cheap hobby, but if you fancy a bit of gentrified rock ‘n’ roll history, Bonham’s have got The Ox’s (that’s John Entwistle, the Who bassist, for the younger readers) customised Silver Shadow Shooting Brake up for grabs. The Ox had the Rolls turned in to a Shooting Brake by an unknown coachbuilders back in the 1980s to carry his Irish Wolfhounds, and when he died as a result of a bit to much nose candy his Rolls Royce Shooting Brake was bought by the current owner from Entwistle’s wife.

Although the diminutive French hatch shares much with its Peugeot 108 and Toyota Aygo stablemates, the C1’s bold new exterior look shares more with recent arrivals such as the firm’s new Picasso people carrier. Santa Monica, Calif.-based TrueCar reports that the most patriotic state, most likely to buy a new domestic car or truck, would be the Motor City. These statistics were compiled using transaction figures based on domestic vehicle sales.
