Car April Fools Stuff: BMW lead the way
Fri, 01 Apr 2011BMW went to town on creating an M3 pick-up as an April Fools joke Just as we did last year with car April Fool stuff, it seems to make more sense to do a roundup of what hilarious pranks the motoring world – renowned for its sense of humour – has conjured up this year for your mirth than to run separate stories. Top Gear: TomTom SatNavs voiced by Jeremy Clarkson pulled
Thu, 13 Oct 2011Clarkson's voiceover for TomTom SatNav cancelled It seemed like a cracking plan for all concerned to get Jeremy Clarkson to add a voiceover for a TomTom SatNav, particularly with the Top Gear live show rapidly approaching and a million children starting to wonder what on earth they can get dad for Christmas. Call for ban on on vehicle-side advertising
Thu, 08 May 2014ALL ADVERTISING and promotional banners on commercial vehicles should be banned as they are distracting to other drivers and tempt them to use mobile phones while driving. This is the call from Flexed, a car leasing company, which has carried out a survey that shows a quarter (23%) of drivers admit to trying to type a website address into smartphone after seeing an advert on a lorry. A further 10% of drivers admitted they had tried to take a camera phone photo of an advertisement on a commercial vehicle to use later.
