Range Rover Sport SVR the fastest SUV around the Nurburgring

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

By Tim Pollard Motoring Issues 30 July 2014 11:35 In a questionable bout of willy-waving, Land Rover today announced one of the most pointless speed records we’ve yet heard: the new Range Rover Sport SVR became the fastest production SUV around the Nurburgring. The breathed-over RR SVR lapped the Nordschleife in 8min 14sec, spelling out the performance credentials of the fastest ever Land Rover. The record was set by a standard production SVR, which will be unveiled sans disguise later this summer.

Kia Soul concepts

Tue, 19 Feb 2008

By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 19 February 2008 15:46 Kia will show a glimpse of its new Soul soft-roader at the Geneva Motor Show on 4 March 2008, previewed in this teaser shot. Naturally, Kia says it ‘doesn’t fit into the usual motor industry brackets’, but we’d say they’re deluding themselves.

BMW M4 Convertible revealed. Price from £60,730

Fri, 04 Apr 2014

The BMW M4 Convertible (pictured) revealed We reported last month that the new BMW M4 Convertible would debut at this year’s New York Auto Show, and here it is ahead of that debut complete with trick folding metal roof, 425bhp and a price tag that just nicks over the £60k line. A direct replacement for the old M3 Convertible, the M4 Convertible will cost you just over £4k more than the M4 Coupe, but for the extra money you get the same car but with infinite headroom – and a big weight penalty. The new 3-piece metal folding roof can be tucked away in a mere 20 seconds at the flick of a switch, with better noise insulation than the M3 Convertible had and more room in the boot when the roof is down too.
