Monterey auction kicks off with woodies sale

The Sports and Classics of Monterey auction is in full swing, and a collection of classic woodies netted $7 million Thursday. The Nick Alexander Woodie Collection featured 51 pristine pre- and postwar Ford and Mercury wood-bodied station wagons. The event was staged by RM Auctions in advance of the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.

McLaren P1 concept

The McLaren P1 concept – the company's flagship hypercar model – will make its world debut at the Paris motor show next week ahead of the production model some time next year. These first images reveal an exterior that's more expressive in its surfacing and graphics than the existing MP4-12C, with a particular motif made of McLaren's 'tick' logo through the DRG. New York City administration's plan to replace current taxi cabs with the specially developed Nissan Taxi of Tomorrow has been stymied by a recent legal decision, the Wall Street Journal is reporting.
