Shelby American considers bringing back rent-a-racer Mustangs

Shelby American is considering resurrecting its “rent-a-racer” program that offers upgraded Mustang GTs for enthusiast-oriented consumers, AutoWeek has learned. Likely timed to mark the storied company's 50th anniversary, the program could launch as early as next spring. The cars would be offered in two traditional configurations: black and gold and white and gold.

Jaguar are taking their Heritage Racing cars to the Goodwood Revival this weekend, ending a successful first season of historic racing. This coming weekend sees the Goodwood Revival taking Sussex back in time, and Jaguar are taking their race-ready versions of the C-Type and D-Type from their Jaguar Heritage Racing team to add some sparkle to Goodwood and round off a successful first year of historic racing. Jaguar has already had plenty of success in their first year with the Heritage Racing outfit, with wins at the 2012 at Monaco Historique, Le Mans Classic and the Nürburgring AvD Oldtimer Grand Prix.

BRITISH race and rally specialist Prodrive is celebrating 30 years of putting drivers on the top step of the podium. The Banbury-based company first entered motorsport in January 1984 when it competed in the Qatar International Rally with a Porsche 911 SC RS. This car was driven by Saeed Al Hajri and the same car went on to be campaigned by Henri Toivenen in the European Rally Championship.
