We have several brand new 11-inch motors that we will be auctioning off during the next few weeks.  We are starting the bidding on most of these motors at only 50 cents on the dollar!  Because we are selling these motors at well below our cost, all sales are final and we are not offering any type of warranty with them.  The motors are all brand new, and have never been run.

Up for sale is an 11-inch series wound motor (the blue motor in the FRONT of the picture).  This is a very heavy duty motor -- similar to the Warp 11, but built by General Electric.  This is one of the most powerful traction motors available for any electric vehicle.  Retail price for this motor is $5999, but we are starting this auction at only $2999 with NO RESERVE!!!   We gurantee that you will NOT find a lower price anywhere for this motor!

The motor is a General Electric 11-inch diameter motor, which happens to have the same 11.45 case size and dimensions as Netgain's top-of-the-line Warp 11 motor.  This motor making torque that rivals most diesel engines!!!  They are rated at 410 ft/lbs of torque, but we have seen 820+ ft/lb  on the dyno at higher voltages.

Unlike the Warp 11 (which has a 1.125" single-key shaft), this motor features a massive 1.625, 25-spline shaft.  Keyless design will guarantee that you won't sheer the shaft key during racing and hard acceleration!  Motor comes with 72V brushes installed.

Pefect to mate with any 1000 or 2000-amp Controller, and battery packs up to 200 volts.  These motors are extremely well-built, and superior to all other DC electric vehicle motors on the market today.  They are Made in the USA, and each motor is individually tested before shipping.

Great for any car or truck up to 6500 pounds!  Can be used for racing applications as long as the motor temperature and current are carefully monitored.  Motor has built-in thermal switch to easily indicate overheating.  Recommended maximum RPM is 4500, although we have pushed them much higher than this.  At 258 pounds, this motor weighs about as much as a 6-cylinder engine, yet can outperform almost every V8 engine ever made!

If you have additional shipping or technical questions, please email or call 508-923-9503.

SHIPPING NOTICE:  Buyer will be charged for actual shipping costs after the auction ends (the ebay shipping calculator is not always correct).  Due to the weight of this motor, it will have to be shipped by truck freight.  Shipping cost is to any loading dock in the lower 48 states.  Residential liftgate service is also available for an additional fee.  There is no additional charge to pick up at your local shipping terminal.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING:  Shipping cost is via ocean freight to nearest port.  Air shipping is also available -- please email for exact quote.  International shipping is to TERMINAL ONLY (except for Canada).  Please note that the ebay shipping calculator is usually NOT CORRECT for international destinations, so please call to confirm the actual shipping charges if you think that shipping costs may be an issue.

BMW recalls 30,000 X5s to fix brake problem

Fri, 15 Feb 2013

BMW said Friday it is recalling more than 30,000 eight-cylinder X5 SUVs built between 2007 and 2010 due to a potential power assist braking malfunction. In a statement to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, BMW noted that a small amount of lubricating oil could leak into the vacuum hose that connects the vacuum pump and the brake booster. This leak could cause power-assist braking to malfunction.

Video: Track-day fun in the Lexus LFA

Thu, 06 Oct 2011

As promised, the third installment in our supercar video extravaganza--after the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 and the Porsche GT2 RS--gives you the lowdown on the hyperexotic Lexus LFA and its insane 552-hp V10 powerplant. Best described by senior editor for motorsports Mac Morrison as "shrieking like a melting witch," the Lexus LFA emits a wail unlike anything this side of a Formula One racer, and its performance isn't too far off that mark, either. Check out the walk-around and some on-track fun, then come back for the VBox lap on Friday.

Nissan Ellure concept (2010) unveiled

Thu, 18 Nov 2010

The Nissan Ellure has today made its world debut at the 2010 LA auto show. Nissan's senior vice president and chief creative officer, Shiro Nakamura states that 'it's not intended as a preview of any upcoming production model' and that 'the Ellure confirms Nissan’s intention to be a strong player in the sedan segment for many years to come' An interesting u-turn, as Nissan has steadfastly pioneered niche markets over the last decade, whilst turning their back on the traditional sectors. Well, the drivetrain's worth a mention: the Ellure boasts a supercharged 2.5-litre four-cylinder with Intelligent Dual Clutch Control (one motor/two clutch design with lithium-ion battery) and 25 kW electric motor.
