New gadget immobilises cars with electronic pulse

Mitsubishi It might sound futuristic, but British technology company E2V has developed a prototype gadget capable of remotely stopping a car using a burst of electromagnetic radiation. Although it does appear to be a piece of equipment from the ‘James Bond bad guy’ locker, this technology really does work and could be used by police forces in the future. Porsche Boxster Spyder (2010) first pictures

This is the new Porsche Boxster Spyder and, as the arrival of any new Porsche tends to be a polarising event, you’ll either be sighing in disgust or yelping in delight. The bare facts? This Boxster Spyder is Porsche’s lightest and quickest current-gen roadster yet thanks to the folding roof being junked.  The Spyder will be unveiled at the LA Auto Show in December 2009, and it’s not a run-out limited edition like previous Spyder-tagged Boxsters, but the third (and most expensive) permanent addition to the roadster range.

Porsche has revealed previously undisclosed details of its new Panamera ahead of a planned public debut at next month's Shanghai motor show. On sale in North America on Oct. 17, the first-ever Porsche sedan will cost more than the BMW M5 and the Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG, with prices starting at $89,800 for the base rear-wheel-drive Panamera S and rising to $93,800 for the four-wheel-drive Panamera 4S.
