Beijing Designers Night

This year's Designer's Night took place on April 21, the second evening of the recent Beijing International Auto Show. Hosted by Autodesk and supported by Car Design News, the event took place in Beijing's famous northeastern 798 art factory district and attracted over 200 designers and design leaders from around the world, from well-known international companies as well as the design leaders from the Chinese automotive design industry. Buick Encore gets innovative all-wheel drive system

Buick is touting the Active On-Demand all-wheel drive system in the new Encore SUV. Instead of a traditional AWD system that directs torque to wheels only when slip is detected, the Buick system sends motive force to the rear on every launch. Then, if no slip is detected, a computer disengages torque to the clutch, returning the car to front wheel drive.

Land Rover adds warranty program on pre-owned vehicles

Land Rover has add a warranty program for certified pre-owned-vehicle buyers in North America. Beginning on Oct. 1, Land Rover Select CPO buyers get a six-year/100,000-mile warranty, 24-hour roadside assistance, a 150-point inspection and no deductible on their vehicles.
