111-13 Jaguar Windshield Washer Push Button Mark 7 Mk8 Mk9 Mk Vii Mk Viii Mk Ix on 2040-parts.com
Ramona, California, US
The "Windscreen Washer Unit Control Assembly on Instrument Panel" that you are bidding on is shown in the first four pictures. The Jaguar part number is C5473/4. These were used on the Jaguar MK7, MK8, MK9, MK VII, MK VIII and MK IX cars to actuate the windscreen washer system by allowing vacuum to operate the sprayer. With the push button in the normally closed position, no vacuum is applied to the windscreen washer fluid system, however when you push this button in, vacuum is applied and the windscreen washer squirts fluid on the front windscreen. This is not an electrical device. The MK VII, MK VIII and MK IX all used a similar push button, this one is a C5473/4 from a MK VIII, the MK IX used a C5473/7 which looks nearly identical. The push button control assembly in this auction can be used in a MK VII, MK VIII or MK IX, and likely many other Jaguars of that era. Please check to be sure that it is appropriate for the car you plan to use it on. This part is in great shape and works. It is not show quality due to some scratches on the chrome on the face of the push button as can be seen in picture #4. It would look very nice on a driver quality car. The fifth picture shows the same kind of push button control assembly installed in the front dash of a MK VIII with the push button control assembly circled in red. This auction is for you if you are restoring a MK VII, MK VIII or MK VIII and your windscreen washer system push button control assembly is broken or missing.

Is the Volkswagen BlueSport Roadster back on?
Sun, 05 May 2013There was talk that VW needed at least three of its brands to take the BlueSport project in to production, and there was talk not just of a VW Bluesport but also a SEAT BlueSport, one from Skoda, another from Audi and even a Porsche BlueSport. But in the end, not a single part of VW’s vast group seemed enamoured enough with the BlueSport to take the project forward. But it now looks as though the idea of the BlueSport is far from dead, with VW’s design boss, Walter de Silva, declaring that he’s a big fan of the BlueSport project, and he’s far from the only one in the VW Group who feels the same.
Audi A1 quattro prototype
Wed, 12 Jan 2011The Audi A1 quattro snow testing in Canada It did seem a strange omission by Audi not to have a quattro drivetrain for the ‘Only Premium Brand in its Sector’ Audi A1. And it was that lack of a quattro system for the A1 which apparently stopped the car that ended up being the Audi A1 1.4 TFSI from being launched as the Audi S1 at Paris last year. All of which has no doubt spurred Audi on to see development of a quattro platform for the A1.
