Honda Insight hybrid sticker price to start at $20,470

Honda has delivered on its promise of bringing the 2010 Insight to market priced less than the rival Toyota Prius. The new Honda hybrid will start at just $20,470 in base LX form, including shipping charges, which undercuts the Prius by $2,250. Insight LX models come standard with front-side and side-curtain airbags, ABS, automatic climate control and power windows.

Mercedes-Benz used the recent Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance in Florida as the opportunity to take a closer look at the SLS AMG GT3 race car. Assistant product manager William Vetter leads the walkaround of the car. Features include the extensive use of the carbon fiber, ducting for braking cooling and aerodynamics, and the explosive charges that blow off the door for an emergency escape.

Truckers in wrong-way driver alert

LIVES WERE SAVED after quick-thinking lorry drivers alerted motorway users to an elderly motorist heading the wrong way down the M6. The Central Motorway Police Group (CMPG) said hauliers on the northbound M6 in Warwickshire had "shadowed" the wrong-way driver, whose car was travelling north on the southbound carriageway. The motorist is thought to have suffered a major medical episode and is being treated in hospital.
