The polyurethane copies I made were to brittle to take the forces exerted on them when put in place so I have have made a copy using a high tensile strength epoxy mix. Unfortunately, the piece is not as white as the original pieces. But seems to be as strong as the original. Extreme heat and or cold may affect the part, making it slightly more flexible in the heat and more brittle in the cold as with most plastics.
You will receive the smaller off white piece only, This piece is usually the part that fails first as the lower gear will grind off the teeth on the upper smaller part making the clutch unusable and needing replacement.

I am in the process of making a copy of the lower larger gear so I can offer folks a complete kit but have not gotten it to come out correctly as of yet. I will not be including the original parts. They are shown in here to give folks a reference of how this lines up when compared to the originals only Sorry.

A few things to check before installing this part into your clutch pedal....

The part that was originally installed in there probably broke for a reason. It is up to you or your mechanic to figure out why. My clutch used to go out about once every 3-4 years.

Please make sure that there is no play in the larger gear (the big white one with lots of teeth on it). Make sure it rotates forward and backward smoothly and evenly but does not move to the left or right at all. If it does this could make the smaller piece bite down off center and make the larger gear more prone to slipping and grinding the teeth off of the smaller part (the small grey one).

That hole that is in the large gear is your friend. Before installing the new part, rotate the gear toward you until it passes the clutch pedal then slide a metal rod or screw through that hole so that it cannot slip back into place. I used a screw and bolt and some rubber washers to line the large gear up so that when it came to rest the top piece bit down completely on one tooth. See Last Picture.

You should also use some thick grease on the lower gear to lubricate it so that the smaller part can release from the larger one easier.

I can and will not warrant installations! If you get the part and think it is not going to work you are welcome to return it but if you install it and it breaks there is not much I can do. I maybe able to make a replacement if I have the time but that can take anywhere from 3-5 days to make.

Porsche 911 GT3 new engine production starts April 22nd 2014

Sun, 13 Apr 2014

The new engines for the Porsche 911 GT3 (pictured) start production this month The recall for the Porsche 911 GT3 after a couple of fires forced Porsche to evaluate the cause – and stop further production – now looks to have not only been resolved, but a fix is soon to be available. But Porsche is taking no chances with any sort of sticking plaster fix and is instead building new engines for the 911 GT3, with optimized piston rod screw connection – the cause of the problem – to make sure nothing goes wrong again. Porsche are planning to start production of the revised engine on 22nd April and will be despatching engines out to dealers shortly thereafter for them to fit to the affected cars.

And now it’s arrived.
