It’s taken some time, but Lexus lovers will be delighted to learn of the new slender LF-CC concept unveiled at the Paris motor show this week, which looks set to replace the current IS range. The LF-CC concept sports a sleek coupe-style body, suggesting its latest family saloon could be a real head-turner. For the first time ever, the IS will be available with the all-new 2.5-litre full hybrid engine, which is soon to be fully incorporated into the Lexus model range.

Mazda Verisa

Mazda has refreshed the Verisa, a B-segment car sold in Japan. Based on the same platform as the Ford Fiesta, the Verisa is a tall hatchback that parallels the (European) Ford Fusion in concept, if not aesthetics. The Down-Road-Graphic has a clean contemporary look, with minimal grille area and restrained use of brightwork, while surfaces are given greater volume and a more substantial feeling than the Fusion.

Petersen Museum gets new chair

Peter Mullin, a car guy with excellent taste and the means to do something about it, has become chairman of the board of the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles. Lucky place, the Petersen. Mullin's vice-chairs, who will help lead the museum into the 21st century, are uber car guys Bruce Meyer and David Sydorick, both longtime supporters of the institution.
