Hyundai reveals new 1.6 litre turbo petrol and 2.0 litre diesel engines

When we reported prices and specs last week for the new Hyundai Veloster, we were suitably impressed at what was on offer, with one exception – the engine. We’d been hoping for a little more oomph from the successor to the very good Hyundai Coupe, and we were a little disappointed that the only engine on offer was a 138bhp diesel.
Top 10 cars recalled for safety issues in 2013

A recall takes place when a car manufacturer becomes aware of a safety-related defect involving one of its cars. Alpina engineers have taken BMW’s twin-turbo diesel from the 123d, slotted it into the Three Coupe, then tweaked it to produce 211bhp. The result is an engine that produces more horsepower per litre than any other BMW or Alpina road car, they say.
