Ford takes to Facebook to sell special model

FORD HAS TAKEN the unusual step of selling 500 examples of its EcoSport crossover on the social networking site Facebook. Based on the Fiesta, the EcoSport combines elements of the small supermini with a raised ride height, taller body and chunky details to create a compact crossover. Underneath the tough exterior the EcoSport comes with a choice of the impressive 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol or 1.5-litre 90bhp diesel unit.

CES opens with fewer big wheels, including carmakers

There are some grumblings that the annual CES is becoming less relevant in this era of 24-hour news and instant globalization of information on the internet. And you can make a good argument that the relevance of the world's largest consumer electronics show is at least evolving, for carmakers as well as for other industry giants. First Chinese MGs built

Around 1000 visitors are gathering at the plant to join in with the celebrations, where the new, Chinese-built MGs will be on display (above). The first cars off the production lines are the MG TF and the MG 7, which Brits will remember as the MG ZT.
