We have been engineering this LBZ duramax intake for approximately 5 months and we finally finished. We had a different approach from the traditional square boxes that work awesome with all our application due to the amount of volume of air in the box but we were not happy with the results on this particular set up. We hired an outside firm that brought critical data and experience to the table and using everything we had from Volant the team developed a system that no one can touch. After testing the new competetors systems that had to capitalize on the customer that couldn’t wait. We decided to test their systems and found that they only produced 2 hp at 5500 rpms at 80 miles an hour. Who goes to the grocery store at that speed? We wanted that immediate response of the line and the torque when towing. Volant designed a filter that went from a 9” diameter to a 6” inch i.d along with a velocity stack that aero dynamically functioned swiftly and with the round conical shape box that draws cool air from three location. Yes three! The scoop from the valance, between the headlight and from the fender well. The air rushes through the box and speeds up as it tapers down and the expanded chamber in the duct give the added air needed to create an air flow that cause this engine to increase an extra 25 hp. The new Volant proguard 7 is included in the kit and adds the best filtration possible without sacrificing airflow. The efficiency on this media was also tested through ISO standard and destroyed the dry filtration filters. This combination of features has opened up Volant to the next level. You will continue to manufacture the best quality systems for years to come

The 2011 version of the Ford Shelby GT500 Mustang carries a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 that weighs less, delivers more power and uses a unique spray-coating process that eliminates the need for cast-iron liners in the aluminum cylinder block. The 550-hp Shelby GT500 also loses something from the previous model--it's gas-guzzler tax. Ford says the new Shelby GT500 will deliver 23 mpg on the highway and 15 mpg in the city.

They make up just six percent of Mercedes car sales in the United States—but nothing preserves and proliferates the top-shelf, seductive image of a Benz like a sports car. This is a point that's been driven home to me in a wide array of circumstances this year: Mercedes sports cars are still rock stars. I'll admit, I've often been a skeptic.

After years of thirsty cars, more and more manufacturers are showing us what can be done when they make a real effort in this direction (and not always at the expense of performance), and the latest is Volvo, which has extended its range of DRIVe cars to seven.
