College Exhibition: Art Center Summer Show 2011 - Non-thesis work
Mon, 05 Sep 2011Art Center College of Design held its annual Summer Degree show at its campus in Pasadena, California on the eve of the Pebble Beach weekend of events. Besides their main crux of thesis projects, nine graduating students in the acclaimed Transportation Design course showcased some of the designs they worked on during their internships and in previous years. Infiniti making noise about its new M35 hybrid
Fri, 19 Nov 2010Infiniti has just announced that its new M35h will be the world's first hybrid with a standard audible pedestrian warning system to alert pedestrians when the car is running silently on EV mode. Infiniti calls the system VSP, or 'Approaching vehicle sound for pedestrians'. It uses a range of distinctive sounds to alert pedestrians via a speaker built in to the front bumper. Instead of reproducing the sound of an internal combustion engine, the Infiniti produces a range of beeps.
Range Rover Evoque Cosworth: the faster Evoque
Wed, 08 Dec 2010The new Range Rover Evoque is soon to rub shoulders with British tuning specialist Project Kahn. This teaser picture has surfaced online, suggesting a full-on makeover, showing off go-faster stripes and Cosworth branding to give the Evoque a sporty edge. Kahn is rumoured to be working on Ford's 2.0-litre EcoBoost turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which has plenty of scope for tuning. The Blue Oval produces a maximum of 240bhp in its current applications. Alex Yeung of Kahn Designs confirmed the project to CAR.
